Dallon

Dallon is a masculine name inspired by the Irish Dallán, meaning “little blind one.” Dallon earns its meaning from Saint Dallán Forchella, a 6th-century poet and scholar in Ireland who went blind from studying too much. Luckily, he wrote an ode to Saint Columba, Amhra Coluim Cille, which miraculously restored his sight. Expanding on its roots, Dallon also dates back to the Anglo-Saxon era of England with various spellings like Dallen, Dallin, and Dallan, meaning “from the valley.” Despite its charm, Dallon and its alternatives are pretty rare to come by in the US. All the better for baby Dallon, who will have a unique appellation they can make their own.
