Cuddy

Not to be mistaken for Cody, Cuddy is a masculine name with a life of its own. As a form of the Old English Cuthbert, Cuddy has no shortage of confidence with its meanings “bright,” “brilliant,” and “famous.” Cuddy is also an Anglicization of the Irish last name Ó Cuidighthigh, from a personal name with the sweet meaning of “helper.” Not stopping there, Cuddy is a British last name that pre-dates the Norman Conquest of 1066, and its meaning is not quite clear today.
