If you're a fan of Netflix's Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, then you'll love Charlotta. This twist on the regal Charles and Charlotte has a pinch of Scandinavian influence. Although Charlotta is mainly found in Denmark, Finland, and Sweden, it rose to prominence from Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. Charlotte later became Queen of Great Britain alongside her husband, King George III. Charlotta comes from the Old High German terms karl and karilaz, meaning "free man" or, in this case, "free woman."
