Cauan is a boy’s name of Brazilian origin. A variant of Kauã, it derives from kaûã, which means “falcon” in the Old Tupi language once spoken by the aboriginal Tupi people of Brazil. A beautiful meaning that’s sure to encourage baby to spread their wings and fly! Other variants of this name include Cauã and Kauan. Sadly, the Old Tupi language has been suppressed almost to extinction. Naming baby Cauan or one of its variants could be a lovely way to help keep the language alive.
