Cadogan

Cadogan is a masculine name of Old Welsh and Irish origin with the noble meaning of “battle,” “glory,” or “honor.” As well as a given name, it is a popular Welsh surname and a variant of the name Cadwgan which has the same meaning. It is the anglicization of the Irish surname Ó Ceadagáin, making its Celtic roots even stronger. The name was used in Harry Potter for Sir Cadogan, a wizard and sworn Knight most known for his defeat of the Wyvern of Wye.
