Amiri is a gender-neutral name with Arabic and Japanese origins. Meaning “prince” or “leader” in Arabic, the name Amiri can remind baby of how important they really are. While in Japanese, this name is spelled in several ways using kanji characters. Its most common meaning is broken down to “second to Asia,” combined with either “beautiful white jasmine” or “reason” and “logic.” Many will also recognize this wise name from the New Zealand film Amiri & Aroha, which is a modern interpretation of Romeo and Juliet.
