Aleesa

Aleesa is a well-loved moniker for a host of reasons. In Kerala, India, it’s the name of a wheat and chicken dish which is particularly popular during Ramadan. Come West, and it’s seen as a variant of Alicia and Alice. Thus, it’s commonly understood as “noble” and “exalted” as illustrated by its Old German roots. Of course, it goes without saying that Lewis Caroll’s Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There infused the name with a fair share of its magic and enchantment.
