Rhayn Abner

Content Writer

At The Bump, Rhayn serves as a writer for Baby Names. This role includes researching a name’s origin, meaning, and connections to history or pop culture that soon-to-be-parents might enjoy. She holds a special love for mythical and gothic names, where she gets to let her spooky side go free.

Education
Rhayn received her Bachelor’s degree at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, where she also worked as a section editor for her college newspaper and strengthened her photography skills. During her junior year, she took a semester abroad at the University of Limerick, where she loved it so much that she returned to earn her Masters, and hasn’t looked back since.

Experience
After graduating from UL, Rhayn served as a jack-of-all-trades for a year and a half, where she served as a kitchen assistant, barista, cleaner, child-minder, bartender, and tai-chi book editor, just to name a few. After the Covid lockdown suspended all of that work, she was lucky enough to join the TKWW team in Galway in July 2020. Outside of work hours, she spends her time writing horror and speculative fiction pieces.
