Best parenting advice I’ve received: When things get tough with kids, either take them outside or let them play with water. I find it rings true 90 percent of the time.
Kate is senior manager of The Knot Worldwide’s branded content team, dreaming up articles, videos and interactive experiences for our brand partners. After more than 14 years as an editor, she has a passion for covering women’s lifestyle topics and crafting helpful, engaging content for readers celebrating life’s biggest moments. Kate is originally from northeastern Pennsylvania (Scranton, represent!) but now lives on Long Island with her husband of 11 years and their son. When not in New York, she’s attempting to turn her preschooler into a world traveler by dragging him around the globe.
Education
Kate is a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, where she majored in journalism with a concentration in magazines. While in college, Kate interned with Philadelphia Weekly and served on the copy desk at The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philly’s leading daily newspaper. She also spent a semester studying abroad in Rome.
Experience
Before her time at The Bump, Kate worked in the fashion industry for seven years, covering trends, retail reporting and New York Fashion Week at a fashion consulting firm. (She’s been to over 100 fashion shows!) Kate then served as editor of the beauty, trend, wellness and home sections of Long Island Pulse, one of the nation’s last independently owned regional magazines, where she also penned their monthly restaurant and interior design columns. She has also written several travel and day trip guides for Thrillist.
