Devraj is a masculine name of Indian origin that means “King of gods.” It is a moniker for Indra, a powerful god of lightning and a warrior in Hindu mythology who rules the other gods and brings rain to the land. Indra is essentially the Indian equivalent of the Greek Zeus or the Norse Odin. He is an important figure who defeats numerous demons and dragons in Hindu legends. Baby Devraj will light up your life like a thunderbolt, destined to be a courageous and bold little warrior.
At the Bump
Ben researches and writes descriptions for baby names. With his history background, he particularly loves digging into the stories behind the names, whether they stem from ancient Greek mythology, medieval, or modern times.
Education
Ben came all the way from the States to pursue a Bachelor’s in History and Politics at UCD beginning in 2017. He graduated in 2020 with a 1.1, focusing on international relations and global history. After a brief pandemic-induced period in Maine, Ben decided to return and pursue his interest in history further with the International History Master’s program at Trinity. After maybe too much writing and research, he graduated with honors in 2021.
Experience
Before this role, Ben worked in the busy Grafton Street branch of Dubray Books, where he managed the nonfiction sections, ordering and processing new books into the shop. He also spent plenty of time drinking coffee and chatting with coworkers and customers about books. During college, he wore many hats to help finance his studies, working in convenience shops and as an enumerator on the 2020 American census.
