The search for the perfect baby name can be exciting—but it can also be long and arduous. In recent years, many parents have been seeking baby name inspiration in pop culture. In honor of the 94th Academy Awards this weekend, we’re looking to Hollywood icons for some ideas. Below, browse 20 baby names inspired by some of the biggest names in the American entertainment industry.

10 Baby Girl Names Inspired By Hollywood Actresses

Arguably the most iconic Audrey in Hollywood is Audrey Hepburn. The actress appeared in several classic films including Sabrina, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Roman Holiday, for which she won an Oscar in the “Best Actress” category. Hepburn is also one of few people in Hollywood to be an EGOT recipient, meaning she’s won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award.

Viola Davis is perhaps best known for her work in the movies Fences and The Help, as well as the television series How to Get Away With Murder. She graduated from the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. She’s won a Tony for her early work on Broadway, an Emmy for How to Get Away With Murder and an Oscar for Fences.

Penélope Cruz is a Spanish actress who started out working in Spanish television and film. She began appeared in Hollywood in the late 1990s and early 2000s, with roles in All the Pretty Horses, Vanilla Sky and Blow. She won an Oscar for her role in Vicky Christina Barcelona.

Kerry Washington gained recognition as Olivia Pope in Scandal. She won several nominations, including an Emmy nomination for her work on the show. More recently she starred in the limited series Little Fires Everywhere with Reese Witherspoon, for which she also received an Emmy nomination.

Marilyn Monroe is one of the most celebrated actresses of all time and played lead roles in the movies Some Like It Hot, The Misfits and How to Marry a Millionaire, among others. She won Golden Globe awards for her roles in Some Like It Hot and Bus Stop.

Laverne Cox has shattered several ceilings. She became the first transgender actress to be nominated for an Emmy. The nomination was for her breakout role in Orange Is the New Black. Since then, she has appeared in Charlie’s Angels, Promising Young Woman and, most recently, the limited series Inventing Anna.

Marion Cotillard was born in Paris to actor parents. She started acting as a child and her first role was in one of her father’s plays. She acted in French cinema and made a name for herself with roles in Taxi and Pretty Things. Her first Hollywood role came in 2003 for Tim Burton’s Big Fish. Over the course of her career, Cotillard has won several awards, both in French cinema and in Hollywood.

Lupita Nyong’o was born in Mexico to Kenyan parents and was raised in Kenya. She is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama’s acting program and garnered acclaim for her breakout role in 12 Years a Slave. Since then she has appeared in several successful films, including Star Wars, The Jungle Book, Black Panther and Us.

Marisa Tomei was born to parents of Italian descent and grew up in the Brooklyn suburb of New York City. As a child, she had a heavy Brooklyn accent, which her mom worked hard to get rid of. Tomei has been nominated for several awards throughout her acting career. She is best known for her work in In the Bedroom, The Wrestler and My Cousin Vinny. She won an Oscar for My Cousin Vinny in the “Best Actress in a Supporting Role” category.

Ingrid Bergman was a Swedish actress who remains one of the most iconic actresses in Hollywood. She starred in several classics like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Casablanca and many more. She was nominated for many awards during her career and won several, including two Emmys and three Oscars.

10 Baby Boy Names Inspired By Hollywood Actors

The best known Lin in Hollywood is Lin Manuel Miranda. While he’s been acting since the early 2000s, Miranda became a household name after his hit Broadway show Hamilton. Since then, the actor has worked on several acclaimed projects, including the films In the Heights and Moana. He has won a Pulitzer Prize, an Emmy, a Grammy and a Tony. He has also been nominated for a 2022 Oscar for his work in Encanto.

Trevor Noah is a South African comedian and host of the Emmy-award winning The Daily Show. In 2016, he released his first book Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood, which is a collection of personal stories from Noah’s childhood. The book was a New York Times bestseller and was nominated for two NAACP Image Awards.

Javier Bardem was born into a family active in Spanish cinema. His first acting role was at the age of 6, and he met his wife, fellow actor Penélope Cruz, while filming Jamón, Jamón. In Hollywood, he is known for his work in No Country for Old Men, Skyfall, Being the Ricardos, Mother, Dune and many more. He’s been nominated for several awards and won an Oscar for No Country for Old Men.

Robert Lopez is a composer and the co-creator behind several acclaimed projects including the plays Avenue Q and The Book of Mormon. He’s also co-wrote several hit Disney songs from Frozen and Frozen II. Lopez has won two Emmys, Grammys, Oscars and Tonys for his work and is the only person to be a double EGOT winner.

There are few Hollywood actors more iconic than Tom Hanks. The actor is known for several films, including Cast Away, Sleepless in Seattle, Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan and countless others. He even took on the role of Walt Disney in the 2013 film Saving Mr. Banks. He’s won close to 100 awards so far in his career, including Oscars, Golden Globes and Emmys.

Chadwick Boseman was an actor best known for his roles in Black Panther, 42, Marshall, Da 5 Bloods and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, for which he posthumously won an Oscar nomination. Boseman starred in several lauded films while privately battling colon cancer. He passed away in 2020.

Marshall Bruce Mathers III is better known by his stage name Eminem. He was raised in Detroit and began rapping at an early age, becoming serious about his work in his teenage years. So far in his career he’s released 11 albums, which have won several Grammy awards. He also starred in 8 Mile, a film loosely based on his life, for which he won an Oscar in the “Best Original Song” category.

Marlon Brando is one of the most acclaimed method actors in Hollywood. He started out in theater before landing his first film role in The Men, released in 1950. He starred in A Streetcar Named Desire, which landed him his first Oscar nomination, as well as Apocalypse Now, Viva Zapata! The Wild One, Last Tango in Paris and, of course, The Godfather.

Mads Mikkelsen is a Danish actor who found success in the Danish film industry and gained notoriety in Hollywood for his roles in King Arthur and the television series Hannibal. He has garnered several awards and nominations. As a child he was a gymnast and worked as a professional dancer prior to his acting career.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the son of professional wrestler Rocky Johnson. He continued in his father’s footsteps with a successful career in wrestling—as well as acting. He made his debut with the 2001 film The Mummy Returns. In the past two decades, he’s held acting roles in The Scorpion King, The Fast and Furious series, Jumanji and Moana.
