I’m a mom of four, and I didn’t discover pregnancy overalls until I was expecting my youngest. After wearing them once, I immediately regretted not buying a pair sooner. They felt so comfortable—almost like I was getting away with wearing pajamas during the day. Like my favorite jeans, my overalls could go through regular rotation in my wardrobe. They also washed easily and were perfect for layering, making them a staple through multiple seasons. There are plenty of options to choose from with maternity overalls, making it hard to narrow it down to the right one or two for your needs. Given how crucial comfort is during these nine+ months, it’s also important to know which pregnancy overalls are truly cozy. With that in mind, we tapped parents from The Bump community to learn more about their experiences with the most popular pregnancy overalls out there. These are our favorites, based on parent feedback.

GAP’s maternity denim overalls have a classic relaxed fit, with a straight leg that’s comfortable and flattering for nearly everyone. These overalls come in your choice of four washes—white, black, dark and medium—to give you options, and the black and white pairs can even be dressed up for brunch or dinner out. According to our survey, comfort was overwhelmingly the biggest concern of moms-to-be shopping for overalls—with a whopping 82% of respondents agreeing—and our research showed that parents rave about the comfort of these overalls.
Another concern that came up in our research: some moms worry about the speed with which they can get overalls on and off when it’s time to pee. GAP’s overalls have an adjustable racerback with buckles that you can quickly snap off when you need to use the bathroom, and then back on with ease. With four pockets, there’s plenty of room to store your stuff, too. While there is no stretchy side panel, there are three buttons on each side that can be adjusted for a roomier or more snug fit. At over $250, these overalls aren’t cheap, but the quality matches up to what you’d expect from the price tag. That includes comfortable, slightly stretchy denim material, along with a back waistband to create extra shape from the rear. (That’s a feature several moms say they love.) The working pockets in the front and back are roomy, allowing you space to carry the essentials. If you’re on the hunt for a high quality pair of maternity overalls to last you throughout your pregnancy and beyond, these are worth a second look. Finding the right size can be tricky when it feels like your body is changing by the second. These overalls fit in all the right places, according to Elise, an expectant mom. But they also have a slight stretchiness to maximize your comfort. Keep in mind that, while these are adjustable, they may still feel too tight up top for bigger-chested expectant moms. Best organic cotton maternity overall

If you prefer to shop organic, Quince’s overalls are an incredibly cozy option to consider. I wore these constantly during my last pregnancy, and even whip them out now when I’m looking for something extra comfortable to wear. Made with a mix of organic cotton and spandex, the overalls have a soft, stretchy feel that’s similar to pajamas.
The straps on these overalls are unique, and highly adjustable—you simply thread them through the back and knot them at whatever length you prefer. Just be aware that there’s a slight learning curve to get this down. However, I found it was easy to just slip the straps over my shoulders for bathroom breaks instead of untying and tying them every time. The overalls come in three chic colors—black, rust and navy—with large pockets in front that are stretchy enough to hold a lot, including a water bottle. Just be aware that these need to be tumble dried on low. Otherwise, you run the risk of shrinkage.
