The Best Baby Food Delivery Services, Tested by Parents and Babies
As a mom of two little boys, I know how overwhelming mealtime can be. Juggling the demands of everyday life—responding to countless “moooooommmy!” calls while trying to prepare meals and make sure my kids are getting the right nutrition—can feel like one of my biggest challenges! When it’s time to introduce solids to your little one, finding the time to plan, prep and cook healthy meals can feel impossible. That’s where a baby food delivery service can be a lifesaver. With a subscription, you get nutritious, balanced and tasty meals delivered right to your door, all designed to support your baby’s growing needs. Plus, many services offer options for toddlers and even older kids, which makes keeping everyone fed and happy a whole lot easier! And to make things ever more simple, we put nine of the best baby food delivery services to the test with real parents and their kids.
To help narrow down the best baby food home delivery services, we conducted extensive research to create a shortlist of nine services for testing. From there:
- We recruited five moms to test nine baby food delivery services. The subscriptions were delivered to them, and their children sampled all of the products in each delivery. These five moms then evaluated the services across several categories such as convenience of the delivery service, ease of use, nutritional value, taste, texture and value for the money.
- We made sure to thoroughly research each baby food subscription for terms of service and ease of cancellation, keeping a watchful eye out for hidden fees.
- To understand how these home delivery services work for a variety of families, we conducted exhaustive market research, scouring forums and message boards, and reading user reviews to learn what parents looked for in a baby food delivery service.
- We followed solid food guidelines outlined by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).

Best baby food delivery service for fresh purees
- Fridge-fresh baby food
- Single-ingredient options available
- Many blends are Clean Label Project certified
- Once opened, food must be consumed within 3 days
- Excess packaging
- Some blends taste bland or acidic
Little Spoon is a brand committed to serving up top-quality meals that are delivered fresh and can be stored in the fridge for 14 days. The cold-pressed baby food is certified organic and contains no preservatives, additives or GMOs. “The food was very fresh,” confirms mom of two Lauren F., who tested a selection of purees with her 7-month-old daughter.
According to Lauren, Little Spoon's purees arrived nicely packaged in a cold box. “The baby food looked good and fresh and was cold upon arrival at which point I put it in the fridge,” says Lauren, before adding that “it was very easy to unpack and stack in our refrigerator, although for some reason the lids kept falling off.” (The puree containers have a plastic seal, so the loose lids weren’t a major concern.) Lauren said the delivery service was super-convenient, noting that “it was nice to just have them on hand to open when needed.” The baby food is ready to eat and can be enjoyed hot or cold, depending on your child’s preference. The portion sizes were generous, and Lauren noted that “we could make one container last for [up to] three mealtimes.”
After having an egg allergy scare three weeks into the weaning process, our product tester decided to opt for single-ingredient purees. Little Spoon’s purees cater to this need with a range of smooth, single-ingredient purees that contain fresh fruit and veggies. “I liked that these were easy, safe non-allergy foods that I didn't have to think about,” says Lauren, who tested mango, apple, butternut squash, parsnip and sweet potato flavors with her little one. Lauren was so impressed with the ingredients that she gave this baby food delivery service a 10 out of 10 score for nutritional value. She reported that the “flavors were mostly bland” but noted that they “tasted very pure and truthful to whatever the puree was.” It’s important to note that although bland food isn’t particularly appealing to an adult palette, it’s ideal for babies who are in the early stages of weaning. And the proof is in the pudding, with Lauren noting that her daughter “liked the parsnip the best, which was surprising!” And the texture of the blends were appropriate for her daughter who is in the initial stages of her solid food journey. “This texture made me feel more calm as a mom,” added Lauren.
Subscription and cancellation
The website is clear and easy to navigate. There are five packages on offer based on your child’s stage of feeding, with a wider variety of flavors than other services we looked at. Once selected, you have to enter a few details before proceeding to checkout. These include your email address, your name, zip code, your child’s name and date of birth as well as their feeding stage.
You can only buy food via the subscription delivery service, so you have to sign up for regular food deliveries every two weeks. The pricing is pretty clear, and you get to choose from three frequencies: 1, 2 or 3 meals per day, and then depending on that choice, you get taken to payment details clearly showing price per week, plus any shipping charges. There are no hidden fees.
Cancellation information can be found in the FAQ section of the website, with specific details available under the “account management” section. Canceling or pausing is a straightforward process. Simply log in to your Little Spoon account and go to “my products + orders,” then click the “edit” button next to the product you’re canceling, which gives you the option to pause or cancel. It’s important to note that you need to remove every product ordered in order to fully cancel your subscription. Cancellation is allowed at any time after your first delivery as long as you cancel before the delivery cut-off time.
Bonus: New customers can take 30% off their first order with code BUMPPERKS30 (max discount of $30)
Delivery options: Every two weeks | Type: Purees | Shipping fees: $9.99
Our product tester says:
“The purees were single purees, which I liked for this stage. The ingredients are organic and cold-pressed for the most nutrients; I don't particularly care about either one of those things but it was nice to have. With these particular purees (mango, squash, sweet potato, apple and parsnip) I had no concerns over allergens which was very nice.”

Best baby food delivery service for shelf-stable purees
- Clean Label Project Purity Award winner
- Certified organic ingredients
- Processed in pouches, not fresh
- No finger food options
Cerebelly’s Puree Sampler Pack offers shelf-stable pouches that can be stored in the cabinet and effortlessly taken on the go. Our product tester Ally H. tested these pouches with her 6-month-old son and appreciated how practical they are for busy days. She noted, “the packaging makes it super easy to grab and go when we have an outing, and I'm able to feed him pretty much anywhere.” The shelf stability means there's no need for refrigeration, making it simple to always keep meals ready.
As it has a longer shelf life this baby food can be classified as “processed,” but the high quality ingredients and Clean Label Project Purity Award mean it’s still a good option for health-conscious parents. In order to qualify for this certification, Cerebelly passed rigorous purity tests that look for chemicals of concern, heavy metals, pesticide residue and plasticizers. The testing results are then benchmarked against other leading products and the top-performing food brands qualify for the Clean Label Project Purity Award.
The sampler pack's assortment of flavors earned a 10 out of 10 from Ally—she was impressed with the variety, saying, “I love the range of fruits and vegetables that were included.” The ingredients are all organic and straightforward, with nothing “unrecognizable or questionable,” and she appreciated the addition of DHA, which she saw as beneficial for her baby’s development.
Ally’s son enjoyed all the flavors, especially the white bean/pumpkin/apple blend, which he “ate right up!” The consistency of the purees varied slightly, with some being lumpier or runnier than others. But Ally thought this was a good thing, noting, “Having different textures is great for my baby and introduces new things for him to feel in his mouth.”
Ally felt that the purees were of great value for the price, with high nutritional value in each pouch. "The ingredients are so straightforward and pure that I would say these are definitely a great value for the money," she said, adding, "I will be buying Cerebelly next time."
Subscription and cancellation
The home page has a straightforward and clear design, with a choice of two processes: Take a personalization quiz or go straight to choosing a bundle. Personalization requires quite a few details, including your name, your child’s name, your child’s date of birth and gender and your email. Then you go through a number of slides about child development.
After the slideshow is complete, you choose the number of pouches you'd like per day over a two-week period (for instance if you choose one per day you get 14 items, and two per day is 28), then arrive at a “personalized page” with some more development info, key nutrients for your child’s age and a suggested bundle. But with only 14 possible flavors of purees, the bundles are very similar whatever age you choose. Checkout is easy with very clear information about pricing, discounts, shipping costs and cancellation or rescheduling.
Finding cancellation information is fairly intuitive, but is buried beneath a couple of sub-menus. First you go to FAQs, then “manage my account” and lastly “how do I cancel.” To actually cancel, you need to log in and click on “my account,” then navigate to “account settings.” Scroll down on the account settings page until you see the list of your active subscription boxes and click “cancel” next to whichever box you no longer want to receive orders for, after which you’ll be redirected to a cancellation survey that you’ll need to complete to successfully cancel your subscription.
Delivery options: Every two weeks | Type: Purees | Shipping fees: $5.99
Our product tester says:
“I have four kids so I place a lot of importance on convenience and how easy it is to use a product, so the fact that these are in pouches that I can take anywhere and are always ready to use, coupled with the nutritional value for the price, I would highly recommend these to other parents.”

Best multi-stage baby food delivery service
- Great options at every stage
- Clean Label Project purity award
- Options for picky eaters
- No added sugar
- Non-recyclable pouch packaging
- Refrigeration required
Introducing solids to baby involves more than just offering new foods; it’s about understanding their developmental stages and adjusting textures, flavors and nutrients accordingly as your child grows. We tested Once Upon a Farm for both purees and finger foods with parents of two appropriately aged children, and found that it was great for parents looking for a multi-stage baby food subscription. The brand’s thoughtfully crafted pouches cater to the unique needs of babies as they grow, from simple purees to more complex blends, supporting their transition from spoon-feeding to self-feeding.
Our product tester Lauren F. tried the purees with her 5-month-old, and shared, "I liked the variety of the purees/smoothies in the box. I like that they had flavor and seemed to be packaged at peak ripeness." Once Upon a Farm offers a range of flavors, from sweet fruit blends to more savory veggie combinations, providing babies with the right balance of taste and nutrition. This variety also helps babies adjust to different textures, ensuring that they’re getting a well-rounded diet at each stage. Lauren noted, "The flavors were complex… and I think this is partly why my baby preferred these."
Erin P., a mom of a 10-month-old, tested Once Upon a Farm’s finger foods, and loved the convenience of the frozen meals. She said, "I think overall it’s great. My baby loved it!" Erin appreciated the variety and fresh taste of the meals, particularly the fruit-based options. "The fruit ones were fresh and didn’t have that processed taste. Even I enjoyed them when I gave it a little taste!" However, she did note that some meals, like the mango, could be a bit hard for younger babies, adding that cooking them a bit longer helped soften them.
Subscription and cancellation
Subscriptions are available every one, two, three, four or five weeks in packs of 16, 24, 32 or 40. Choosing the meals is easy—the site is clearly laid out, with a header showing different stages and types of food on offer. Once in a stage section, there are a lot of choices to scroll through, with images of the pouches and their prices, and clicking on a product reveals a pop-up box with nutritional and product info clearly laid out. Even better, as you select products a little progress bar along the bottom shows a running total of how many of your pack you have left. Unlike other services no additional data was taken, and there was an option to buy individual pouches without having to sign up to a subscription package.
Finding cancellation info on the website is not intuitive; it’s not included on the (very long) FAQ page. In the end we had to Google it. But once you find the instructions, the process is very simple: you can cancel by going into your account management portal and clicking on cancel or pause subscription. This can be done up to one day before the next charge is taken, and you get a reminder email five days before the charge is taken.
Delivery options: Every 1 to 5 weeks | Type: Purees and finger foods | Shipping fees: $5.99
Our product tester says:
“I think this is a good value for a first-time parent or someone who just wants to take the guesswork out of starting baby food. I liked that the flavors were robust and it felt like there was intention in every pouch.”

Best protein-dense baby food delivery service
- Clean Label Project Purity award
- Made in the USA
- No additives
- Organic
- Somewhat pricey
Serenity Kids' Meat + Veggies Variety Pack is an excellent option for parents seeking a protein-dense baby food subscription. Protein is essential for baby’s development, and Serenity Kids focuses on high-quality meat and vegetable combinations to support those key stages of growth. Our product tester Audrey W., mom of a 6-month-old, praised the variety and nutrient-rich offerings, which included flavors like beef, bison, turkey, chicken, butternut squash, sweet potato and spinach. Audrey noted, “I loved that the pouches were protein-rich. That is something important to me…I always strive for protein, fruit, and veggies in every meal."
One of the key benefits of this service is the simple, clean ingredient list. Audrey’s mom even commented on the safety and quality of the food, saying it was healthy and safe for her grandchild. The ingredients are organic and free from additives, making it a great choice for health-conscious parents. Audrey mentioned that while she typically makes her own purees, she was impressed with the quality and felt the food perfectly met her baby’s needs. “This is one of the best quality baby foods on the market,” she said, rating Serenity Kids’ a 10 out of 10 for nutrition, ease of use and convenience of service. Audrey’s son enjoyed most of the purees when it came to taste, though he wasn't fond of the beef flavor. “He made a face at every bite but still ate it slowly,” she shared. As for the texture, Audrey found the purees to be smooth and well-suited for her 6-month-old, though she noted that those with olive oil were slightly runnier and harder to spoon-feed.
Subscription and cancellation
You can choose a one-time purchase, but a subscription package offers a saving of 20%. If you choose a subscription, you’re offered the option of every two, four or eight weeks. Pricing is helpful and clear; when you click on checkout and you get a window showing how much more you need to spend to get free shipping, and there are no hidden or unexpected costs. It does make you scroll past some upsell products though.
Cancellation information was easy to find in the website’s footer, which doesn’t require too much scrolling down, in a clear link titled “subscription terms and conditions.” The terms are a bit jargon-heavy, but cancellation is relatively simple—once you log into your customer portal you can change the order or the frequency up to one day before shipping. You get an email five days before shipping reminding you of the upcoming order.
Delivery options: Every 2, 4 or 8 weeks | Type: Purees | Shipping fees: $8 or free shipping with orders over $35
Our product tester says:
“Although I prefer to make my own food, I would definitely buy My Serenity Kids to supplement or use when on the go. I think this food is perfect for the early stages of solid feeding. It's a great way to introduce different foods and flavors and the consistency and texture is great for babies who are just starting to eat solids.”

Offering perfectly prepared meals that make self-feeding easy and enjoyable, Nurture Life's Finger Foods stood out in product testing as the optimal choice for babies in the 11+ month age range. This toddler meal delivery service takes the stress out of meal prep by providing age-appropriate finger foods that don’t require any cutting or mashing, ensuring safe, nutritious and convenient feeding. As Sasha W., mom to an 11-month-old, shares, “I really loved that I didn’t have to think about how I was going to cut the items for my daughter. Everything was so well prepared for her age.”
The variety and nutritional value of the meals are standout features. Sasha appreciated that her daughter was able to try new foods that Sasha wouldn't have typically cooked, with meals like chicken parm with peas, beef meatloaf with broccoli and squash and salmon cakes with peas and potato. “Everything was so fresh and colorful… I knew she was eating such healthy meals,” Sasha commented. Sasha recommended these meals for kids beyond one year old as well, emphasizing how convenient and enjoyable they are for children of various ages.

The site defaults to a 10-meal box plan, but there's a dropdown to change your order to 6, 13 or 16+ meals, and you save more at higher volumes. You're then asked to select a non-profit to whom 1% of each weekly order will be donated. Once you click through to the checkout page, you’re given a ton of fantastic info, including the plan type, the date when your first delivery is scheduled, and the shipping cost (this is a fixed cost of $9.99, which is high compared to other services). There are no hidden or unexpected costs or upselling, and the frequency is fixed at once a week.
Cancellation details can be found in the FAQ, right at the top of the “managing your subscription” section. The instructions are clear: go into your account, and click on the link to pause your subscription. There’s also a number for customer services if you’d prefer to stop shipments over the phone.

Our product tester says:
“It truly takes the pressure off you as a parent to figure out what to feed them and how to prepare/cut the food for your little ones! Puts your mind at ease.”

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), once baby has doubled their birth weight (at around 4 months old) they may be ready for solids. (That being said, they also recommend that babies eat only breast milk for the first six months.) Other signs that baby might be ready for solid food include: holding their head up, reaching for food and moving food to the back of their throat (instead of dribbling it down their face). Remember that every child is different, and although your child may be dropping clues that they’re ready to start expanding their diet, introducing solids can be a slow process. And
Baby’s nutrition is key to their continued development, so before you sign up to a food delivery service, it’s best to weigh up your family’s needs. First, think about your child’s age and stage of development. There are many different types of foods available, from purees for babies to finger foods and whole plates for older kids. Then, check the ingredients list. The best baby food delivery services use nutritious, natural ingredients that align with your pediatrician’s recommendations. Next, consider your lifestyle. Would you prefer fresh, ready-to-eat baby food that can be stored in the refrigerator or frozen meals that require heating? Finally, look for a baby and toddler food delivery service that has flexible subscription options. That way, you can change your plan depending on your needs. A word to the wise: Baby and toddler food subscriptions are pricier than store-bought (or homemade) baby food, so before you sign up, be sure to weigh the pros and cons of each service.
